The camera won't open
Ridgeline ID needs camera access to identify peaks. Open your device Settings → Ridgeline ID → enable Camera. Then reopen the app and tap the camera button again.

We use your location to narrow results to nearby peaks and to calculate distance and bearing. Enable Location for Ridgeline ID in Settings, and make sure you're outdoors with a clear view of the sky for a faster GPS lock.
Phone compasses need an occasional calibration. Hold your phone flat and move it in a figure-of-eight motion for a few seconds, then try again. Stay clear of metal objects and magnets.
Identification works best with a clear, well-framed photo of a single peak from a known location. If you're sure the answer is wrong, email us the photo and your best guess at the peak name — we use these reports to improve the model.
Open the app, go to Account, and tap "Delete my account". This permanently removes your account and your full identification history.
